abine Baierlein, Regina Schick – There are many systems for the production of (trade) magazines, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages. For the more than 80 periodicals that we produce in-house we use the systems flowmags and censhare, depending on the use case.\r\n In this presentation we introduce both of these production systems from the user’s point of view, showing their respective strengths and weaknesses. Sabine Baierlein has been employed at the C. H. Beck printing house for 23 years now. After training as a typesetter she got into production, typesetting with SGML and XML data and developing templates with APP (still referred to as 3B2 at the time). She held a number of different roles within C.H.Beck.Media.Solutions before taking on responsibility for template development, APP automation and flowmags customer support in 2011.\r\n In the same year Regina Schick finished her apprenticeship as a print and digital media designer and joined the company’s magazine production team. Her duties include ad composition and checking, complete cover design for various trade journals with censhare, and the creation of templates, as well as organisation and support related to censhare and InDesign usage.
