transpect
transpect t is a framework comprised of various conversion modules and libraries, supplied by the Leipzig-based company letex publishing GmbH. It grants a workflow based on InDesign typesetting data, at the end of which a publisher-specific XML file as well as an ePub are delivered.
One of transpect special features is that no prior knowledge of XML is required for typesetting, since the XML data is only generated after it is composed (XML load). This makes it considerably easier to integrate reliable typesetting service providers. To successfully convert from IDML to a publisher-specific (or TEI) XML file, the InDesign typesetting must strictly follow a set of rules and an index of style templates.
We use transpect for producing works of fiction and have the capacity to broaden the workflow with our own developments.
